Who is Ronald Ojeda Moreno?

The history of Ronald Ojeda Moreno is distinguished by his participation in a Group of 33 soldiers demoted and expelled from the Venezuelan Armed Forces (FF. AA.) last January 24th. These uniformed men were accused of conspiring against Nicolás Maduro's regime, according to a statement from the Ministry of People Power for the Defense of Venezuela. The allegations included planning criminal and terrorist acts, including the alleged assassination attempt on President Maduro, which was deemed a “treason.”

The Undersecretary of Interior of Chile, Manuel Monsalve, confirmed the kidnapping of Ojeda and detailed that a group of five people posed as PDI officials to carry out the kidnapping. According to preliminary information, the former soldier was taken from his house in his underwear and placed in a vehicle with an unknown address.

The incident has sparked a series of investigations at both Ojeda's residence and Ojeda's residence North Coast Highway, where a vehicle related to the kidnapping was found. Items found in the car, including clothing that could belong to the PDI and a 9mm pistol magazine, have added complexity to the investigation.
