A shocking incident came to light after an Air Algérie flight arrived at Paris Orly Airport on Thursday. A 20yearold boy, whose identity was not released, was discovered in critical condition in the undercarriage compartment of the plane from Oran, Algeria, airport sources told Agence FrancePresse (AFP).
The discovery came during a technical inspection of the aircraft on Thursday morning. As an airport source told AFP, it was discovered that the young man was vital but was suffering from severe hypothermia and required immediate medical attention.
After the rescue workers and the police, who specialize in air transport, arrived, the boy was immediately taken to a hospital for the necessary care.
It is important to point out the extreme risks of traveling secretly in aircraft compartments, particularly in the undercarriage. Commercial flights reach altitudes of around 12,000 meters, where temperatures can drop below 50°C. According to statistics from the US Federal Aviation Administration, the mortality rate among people using this type of transport is alarming and stands at 77%.
