A man has been sentenced to up to 30 years in prison in the United States for inciting minors in the Philippines to send him sexual photos and videos, the American judiciary said on Friday.

Karl Quilter, a 58-year-old American from Chicago, was arrested in November 2020 and pleaded guilty last year to sexually exploiting a minor, federal prosecutors for the Northern District of Illinois said. (UNITED STATES).
He was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison, prosecutors said in a statement.
Between 2017 and 2020, the man had encouraged at least nine young girls in the Philippines to produce sexual images and then sent them to him via online messengers.
He “exploited victims’ financial hardship to exploit them by sending remittances to victims’ families to entice young girls into taking the footage,” the statement said.
“Victim for victim, message for message, the defendant used social media and the internet to target and manipulate young Filipino girls,” Assistant Federal Attorney Ashley Chung said in a Karl Quilter sentencing note.
“It was not a one-time mistake, but several years of abuse and exploitation of minors,” she added. She adds.
